MyCollegeStudio Terms of Service
Last updated: September 5, 2026.
These terms are a real agreement between you and MyCollegeStudio, so we wrote them to be read. If any part is unclear, ask us — an agreement you can't understand isn't much of an agreement.
1. What MyCollegeStudio is (and what it is not)
MyCollegeStudio is an educational guide through the US college application process: a step-by-step curriculum, planning and tracking tools, and an AI coach that helps you do your own work. MyCollegeStudio is operated by Fawzy Consulting, doing business as "Fawzy Educational" for the MyCollegeStudio product, a California sole proprietorship, with a mailing address at 2540 3rd Street #1087, Sacramento, CA 95818.
MyCollegeStudio is not financial advice, not legal advice, and not admissions consulting, and using it does not create a professional, fiduciary, attorney-client, financial-adviser, or admissions-counselor relationship between you and us. We teach how things work; we do not tell you what to choose, predict outcomes, or manage money — and nothing in MyCollegeStudio is a guarantee of admission, financial aid, a scholarship, a deadline, or any other outcome.
And one thing above all: you remain responsible for your applications, deadlines, and submissions. Applications are submitted by you on the official application platforms. The FAFSA and CSS Profile are completed by you (and your family) only on StudentAid.gov and cssprofile.collegeboard.org. MyCollegeStudio never files or submits anything, anywhere, on your behalf. Verify every deadline and requirement on the official source before you rely on it.
2. Eligibility and minors
MyCollegeStudio is built for high-school students aged 13 and older planning for college, and many users are under 18 — that is expected and welcome. MyCollegeStudio is not directed to children under 13, who may not create accounts, and sign-up uses a neutral date-of-birth check.
Purchases must be made by a parent or legal guardian who is at least 18 years old. By completing checkout, the purchaser agrees to these Terms and our Refund & Cancellation Policy in the purchaser's own name, acknowledges the Privacy Policy, authorizes the student's use of the Service, and represents that the purchaser has the authority to do so. We keep a record of the Terms version, the timestamp, the purchaser's and student's account identifiers, and the purchaser's affirmative checkout assent.
The student using the account separately acknowledges the age-appropriate use rules that govern the Service at sign-up. If you are a student under 18, we encourage you to loop in a parent or guardian; they may contact us at any time about your account (see our Privacy Policy) — though, as explained there, purchasing the Season Pass does not by itself give the purchaser access to the student's private account content.
Parent and guardian accounts. A parent or guardian account exists only because a student created an invitation for it; there is no other way to get one, and buying the Season Pass neither creates one nor adds anything to one. Creating it requires an affirmative statement that you are at least 18 and the student's parent or guardian, which we record along with the versions of these Terms and the Privacy Policy in force at the time. The account is read-only: it shows the planning summary and the sections that student has chosen to share, and nothing else — it confers no right to write, edit, export, or delete anything in the student's account, and no purchase, billing, or ownership rights over it. The student decides what is shared, may change it at any time, and may end the sharing entirely without notice to you.
3. Your account
- Sign up with a real email address you can access, and accurate age information.
- Keep your password secret and pick one you don't use elsewhere. Don't share your credentials or impersonate anyone else.
- The account is yours: you are responsible for activity that happens under it. You can add a second step to your sign-in (a passkey or an authenticator app) from Profile → Sign-in & security, and we recommend it; keep your recovery codes somewhere safe, because they are the way back in if you lose the device. Accounts that can see other people's work — counselors and MyCollegeStudio staff — must use a second step.
- If you sign in with Google, the Google account you connect is yours to keep secure as well; disconnecting it from Profile → Sign-in & security ends that way in (set a password first if it is the only one). A counselor whose organization uses single sign-on signs in through that organization's system: the organization can end that counselor's access at any time, and it cannot read a student's account through it — what a counselor sees still depends entirely on what each student chose to share.
- The purchaser is responsible for payment and billing communications, but — as explained in our Privacy Policy — does not automatically receive the student's private account content.
- A parent or guardian account is your own account and the same rules apply to it: your own email address, your own password, kept secret. Never ask a student for their password — your own account is how you follow along, and it keeps their work theirs.
- Exporting your data or permanently deleting your account requires you to re-enter your password first, since both actions are significant.
- Tell us right away at support@mail.mycollegestudio.com if you think someone else has used your account.
4. Acceptable use — including academic integrity
Use MyCollegeStudio honestly. You agree not to:
- Misuse the AI coaching to ghostwrite application material. The coach is designed to refuse to write your essays, answers, or descriptions — attempting to trick it into doing so (however creatively) is a violation of these terms, and more importantly, of your own schools' academic-integrity policies. Submitting work that isn't yours can carry serious consequences with colleges; our no-ghostwriting design is intended to support academic integrity, though it does not guarantee compliance with any school's rules.
- Use MyCollegeStudio for fraud or misrepresentation of any kind, including fabricating activities, honors, or circumstances.
- Do not submit information the product is designed to exclude: Social Security numbers, FSA IDs, account numbers, tax data, or your family's actual financial figures.
- Probe, overload, scrape, or interfere with the service, or attempt to access other users' data.
- Break the law, or use the service to harm anyone.
We may suspend or close accounts that violate these rules, proportionate to the violation (see Section 10). If you think we made a mistake, contact support@mail.mycollegestudio.com and we will look into it.
5. Your work is yours (intellectual property)
You own your essays, notes, activity descriptions, and everything else you create in MyCollegeStudio. Full stop. We claim no ownership of your work. You grant us only a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, reproduce, transmit, display it back to you, and process it — including through the contracted service providers who help us run MyCollegeStudio, like our AI provider — solely to provide, secure, and support the Service and comply with the law. We do not use your work to train models, to advertise, to sell, or for any purpose unrelated to providing you the Service. This license ends when you delete your content or your account, except for a limited backup window and anything we must retain by law (see our Privacy Policy). Export it or delete it whenever you like.
MyCollegeStudio's own material — the curriculum, lessons, product design, and software — belongs to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable, non-commercial license to use it while you use the service. Please don't republish or resell it.
6. About the AI coaching (read this one)
The AI coach is genuinely useful and genuinely imperfect. You agree you understand that:
- You are interacting with AI, not a human or licensed professional. Outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, biased, or out of date and must be independently verified — always check dates, requirements, and policies on official sources: the college's own pages, StudentAid.gov, and the application platforms.
- It coaches; it does not produce submittable work. By design it will not ghostwrite, predict your admission chances, make decisions for you, estimate your aid eligibility, or recommend financial products.
- Its output is guidance for your judgment, not a substitute for it — and not professional advice of any kind. Do not use the coach for emergencies, mental-health crisis support, legal or financial advice, or to make consequential decisions for you.
- The coach is built for educational productivity — helping you plan, draft, and revise your own work — not as a companion or ongoing social relationship.
- Interactions are rate-limited per user. See our Privacy Policy for how your input is processed by our AI provider and what we log.
7. Financial aid: we guide, we never file
Everything about money in MyCollegeStudio is educational. We explain the FAFSA, the CSS Profile, and aid concepts; we link you to the official sites; our checklists record only whether you have something ready. The Service is not designed to collect, and provides no field for, financial identifiers (Social Security numbers, FSA IDs, account numbers, tax data) or your family's actual financial figures — please do not submit them. MyCollegeStudio never files aid forms. Nothing in MyCollegeStudio is financial advice; for individualized decisions about paying for college, talk with your school's financial aid office or an appropriately licensed professional.
8. Disclaimers (in plain words)
MyCollegeStudio is provided "as is." We work hard on accuracy and reliability, but we cannot promise the service will always be available, error-free, or current. Deadlines, requirements, test policies, and aid rules change every cycle and are ultimately controlled by colleges, testing agencies, platforms, and governments — not by us. We are not responsible for their decisions, their systems, or their outcomes, and no statement in MyCollegeStudio is a promise of admission, aid, or scholarship results.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," AND WE DISCLAIM ALL EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTY ARISING FROM COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE. This does not affect any consumer warranty that cannot lawfully be limited.
9. Limitation of liability (in plain words)
To the maximum extent the law allows: MyCollegeStudio and its team are not liable for indirect or consequential losses — for example, a missed deadline, a rejected application, lost financial aid, or lost data.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT THE PURCHASER PAID FOR THE SEASON PASS GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM OR (B) US $100. THIS LIMIT DOES NOT APPLY TO LIABILITY THAT CANNOT LAWFULLY BE LIMITED, INCLUDING FRAUD, GROSS NEGLIGENCE OR WILLFUL MISCONDUCT, DEATH OR PERSONAL INJURY, OR NONWAIVABLE STATUTORY RIGHTS OR PENALTIES.
This limit applies to the adult purchaser and does not depend solely on a minor's assent. Some jurisdictions don't allow some of these limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
10. Ending things (termination)
You can stop using MyCollegeStudio at any time and delete your account from your profile page. Because deletion is immediate, complete, and permanent, we'll ask you to reauthenticate and confirm before it happens — export your data first if you want it (see our Privacy Policy for how deletion interacts with backups and any legal holds).
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or threaten the service, with notice where practical; we don't owe a refund for a suspension or termination caused by your material breach, except where the law requires one. If we terminate your access for our convenience, or permanently discontinue the Service before May 31, 2027, for reasons other than your material breach, you're entitled to the pro-rata refund described in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
Sections that by their nature should survive — including payment obligations, ownership of your work, intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, dispute resolution, and any other provision that by its nature should survive — survive termination.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute may be brought in the state or federal courts located in Sacramento County, California, and each party consents to those courts. This clause does not deprive you of mandatory consumer protections or a forum that cannot lawfully be waived, and either party may use eligible small-claims court. MyCollegeStudio does not require arbitration, and there is no class-action or jury-trial waiver in these Terms.
12. Changes to these terms
Recent changes: September 4, 2026 — parent and guardian accounts; September 5, 2026 — two-step sign-in, sign in with Google, and organization sign-in (§3).
If we change these terms, we will post the new version here with a new date, applied prospectively. For a materially adverse change, we will give the purchaser and student at least 30 days' advance notice when practicable, in the app, before it takes effect. If a change materially affects payment terms, liability or dispute-resolution terms, or introduces a materially different use of your data, we will ask for your fresh, affirmative agreement rather than relying on continued use. For other, nonmaterial changes, continuing to use MyCollegeStudio after clear notice means you accept them; if you don't agree, you can export your data and delete your account. Urgent security or legal changes may take effect sooner, with prompt notice.
